Energize Your Guests with a Gourmet Coffee Station
If you want to have your guests energized the entire night, make sure you keep them caffeinated! A good cup of joe is always a good after dinner treat. Instead of basic coffee station, ask your caterer to offer a variety of coffee drinks on a beautiful gourmet coffee station. It will be like having your own personal Starbucks. All the caffeine fans in attendance will love it!
The foundation of a gourmet coffee station are different roasts of coffee. Be sure to offer a light roast and a dark roast and a variety of other choices. Perhaps something smokey, or buttery or earthy? Try experimenting with a few new flavors for your guests to sample. Check out craft coffee makers such as Drew’s Brews for ideas. Another option are gourmet flavored coffees, such as mudslide flavored coffee or cinnamon hazelnut coffee from FlavoredCoffee.com.
Coffee is a classic but no gourmet coffee station is complete without espresso drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, americanos and maybe even a few Irish coffees. Ask your caterer to add a portable espresso machine to your gourmet coffee station. Some other great coffee station additions are Turkish Coffee, Cuban Coffee, frozen coffee, iced coffee and Vietnamese Iced Coffee.
Whatever you decide to offer, consider asking your caterer to purchase fair trade coffee, where possible.
Also, make sure to include a variety of syrups and toppings so each guest can personalize their drink. Include flavored syrups such as Vanilla, Toffee Nut, Caramel, Hazelnut, Peppermint, Chocolate, Cinnamon and Pumpkin Pie. Also include a number of toppings for your guests to experiment with. A few of our favorite coffee toppers are whipped cream, cinnamon, pieces of chocolate, caramel drizzle, ground nutmeg and shaved coconut.
We love pairing coffee with wedding cake but make sure to add a few additional desserts specifically for your coffee crowd. Dippers such as biscotti and Madelines are sure to be a hit with your guests! Also, add fun tidbits to the spread like chocolate covered spoons and edible stirrers. Your guests are sure to enjoy these tasty extras.
